Emulsified Asphalt Wet Wheel Abrasion Loss Tester
The wet wheel abrasion test is to place the molded slurry mixture specimen in water according to the prescribed molding method, and grind it with the wet wheel abrasion instrument grinding head for 5 minutes to measure the wear loss. The wet wheel wear loss is expressed in g/m2.
The instrument drives the wear head through the motor, so that the wear head grinds the emulsified asphalt slurry seal mixture specimen fixed in the sample tray at a certain rotation speed and revolution speed, simulating the wear of the road surface under the action of vehicle load, etc., and evaluating the wear resistance of the mixture by calculating the mass difference of the specimen before and after wear.

Test operation steps
- Preparation: Prepare aggregates, fillers, etc. as required, weigh 800g of the total weight of the mixture and put it into the mixing pot to mix well, add appropriate amount of water and quantitative emulsified asphalt to mix, spread the oil felt disc flat on the enamel plate, put the circular template on the oil felt disc, pour the mixed mixture into the circular hole of the template, scrape it flat with a scraper, remove the template and put the enamel plate containing the sample into a 60℃ oven to constant weight.
- Test steps: Take out the test piece from the oven, cool it to room temperature, then weigh it. Put the test piece and oil felt in a 25℃ water bath to keep it warm. After the insulation is over, put the test piece and oil felt in a sample tray, add water to the sample tray so that the test piece is completely immersed in the water, start the instrument and let the grinding head rotate for 5 minutes, then stop, lower the platform to take out the test piece, rinse off the ground debris with water, and then put the test piece in a 60℃ oven to constant weight. Take it out and cool it to room temperature, then weigh it.
